Visit to the Penitentiary Institution and Moral Support

On Monday, December 16, 2024, between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM, a visit was carried out at the Ümraniye Type-E Closed Penitentiary Institution with the authorization of the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses under the Ministry of Justice. Law students enrolled in the Enforcement Law course, along with assigned research assistants, came together with disadvantaged groups at the facility to offer moral support.
During the visit, the students and research assistants spoke with prison staff, sharing their perspectives on enforcement law and the process of reintegration into society. This interaction allowed them to observe the practical reflections of their theoretical knowledge and further strengthen their sense of social responsibility. Photographs taken during the event, which were permitted by the penitentiary administration, captured the students’ satisfaction and now serve as a meaningful keepsake.
The Social Responsibility Coordination Office emphasized that such visits play a crucial role in raising awareness about the rehabilitation of inmates and reinforce the engagement of university youth in social responsibility projects.
